Your guide to fishing in Kent
Fish Kent -
Whitstable is one of Kents hidden gems, even if you don’t come here to fish it is well worth visiting. Famous for its oysters this small working harbour and surrounding beach is bustling with activity for most of the year.
Being on the North Kent coast the water is relatively shallow. In places the tide will go out up to half a mile or more meaning high water is the only time you can fish.
Prominent species are flatfish, Whiting, Codling and Bass with the odd chance of a Mullet in ideal conditions.
On a warm summer evening Bass fishing on a rising tide can be particularly enjoyable with Schoolies coming close to shore.
Parking can be limited on Weekends and Holidays.
If you are not fishing then its worth visiting for the fish markets alone.
