Your guide to fishing in Kent
Fish Kent -
The beach at Walmer and Kingsdown offer some excellent fishing with good catches possible throughout the year. The water is a good depth and fishing from the steep shingle beach means you can cast a good distance with ease.
There are a good mix of species that you are likely to catch here. Whiting show in large numbers during the winter with worm working really well. There chance of a 5lb+ Cod is always there with big fish running through for most of the winter.
Fishing at night on a rising tide will give you the best chance of catching well. Try to avoid the really rough weather as a lot of debris will wash through. You don’t need to cast a great distance to get into the fish so a simple clean rig with 2 or 3 hooks works best.
There is plenty of parking just off the beach, either find one of the car parks or you can park behind the houses that face onto the sea.
