Your guide to fishing in Kent
Fish Kent -
Fishing at Sandgate
Sandgate located between Folkestone and Hythe is a popular venue that fishes really well throughout the year. There are plenty of places where you can park close to the beach making it an ideal sport for anglers of all abilities.
The water is relatively deep meaning you do not always need to cast a great distance to get into the fish.
Bass and Mackerel show in good numbers during the summer. Lures or fish and crab baits work well for the bass which can run over the 5lb mark. Mackerel show in good numbers along this coastline usually preferring hot sunny weather and calm seas. The odd garfish can also be caught.
Winter fishing for Codling is also very good sport at Sandgate. You don’t need to do anything too complicated with rigs. A fresh bait presented well is all you need.
