Leysdown Isle of Sheppey
Leysdown is a popular fishing marque on the Island with some specimen fish falling
each year. As well as the usual estuary species it is also possible to catch Thornback
Rays and some good flounders.
Fishing is relatively comfortable with parking close to the beach in several places.
Groins are spaced about 50 yards apart along the beach giving you plenty of room
to fish in comfort.
A sturdy rig fished at distance works well, you might need to clip it down or use
a pulley rig to get a few extra yards.
Sand Eels and fresh worm are good baits with fresh peeler crab also being a top bait
when in season.
