Your guide to fishing in Kent
Fish Kent -
The Isle of Grain Peninsular is one of Kents less well know fishing locations but can still provide some good sport if you are prepared to explore the area.
The Isle of Grain is surrounded by the mouth of the Thames to the North and Medway to the South. With a large tidal variation at lower water there are large mud flats exposed making this a sanctuary for birds as well as fish.
The maze of inlets and marshy areas make this an ideal venue to target Mullet in the summer months. Large specimens can be found close to shore but catching them still remains hard.
Flatties and School Bass can also be found in good numbers. If you can get some fresh peeler crab in the spring this can be a deadly bait for the Bass. Its possible to have a good catch of Bass up to 5lbs in weight so its well worth trying Grain if you haven’t visited before.
