Your guide to fishing in Kent
Fish Kent -
Hythe beach is a very popular sea fishing venue producing good catches all year round. The beach is easily accessable from Princes Parade where there is ample parking.
During the summer months you can catch Mackerel, Bass, Wrasse and Garfish. Sometimes a good cast is needed to catch the Mackerel but on the right conditions they run very close to the beach. The Bass tend to congregate around the more rocky areas such as the small breakwaters and jetties that are located along the beach. As with most venues its worth exploring them during the day and on a very low tide.
In the colder months night fishing can be extremely productive for Cod, Pouting, Whiting, Dogfish, Flounder and Sole. Local lug tipped with squid or fish will work well on either a two or three hook rig.
