Your guide to fishing in Kent
Fish Kent -
Greatstone sits in the shadow of Dungeness but can be a very good fishing marque. There is ample parking close to the beach with just a short walk needed to reach the shore. The water here is a little shallower than Dungeness but still fishes well.
Local lug tipped with squid works well in the winter months. Dabs, flounders, sole and the odd good cod are all likely to show especially after a good blow.
In the summer months mackerel come through in good numbers. Some days a good cast is needed to reach them.
Bass fishing in the summer can be productive with crab or fish baits working well. Plugs or lures can also be very good sport when fished near a groin in calm seas.
