Dover is one of Kents best known sea fishing venues with big fish falling each year.  The main fishing marques are the Admiralty Pier, the Prince of Wales Pier, Southern Breakwater as well as the beach.

The Admiralty Pier is famous for producing large Cod, Bass and Dogfish as well as huge hauls of Mackerel in the summer.  Strong gear is recommended to cope with the demands of hauling your gear up the high sea wall.  The current can also be very strong making bottoms fishing challenging in strong tides.  The Mackerel fishing can get a bit crowded and crazy in the summer but things become more sensible later in the season.

The Prince of Wales Pier is the inner harbour pier this is a lower pier, more sheltered and easier to fish from.  Catches can still be very good from the Prince of Wales.  You can fish a little lighter if needed with less current inside of the breakwater.
